Who are the Democrats are running in Pennsylvania’s 10th Congressional District?(WHTM) – Pennsylvania’s 10th Congressional District race is once again expected to be a closely watched contest not just in the Midstate, but nationwide.The seat is held by seven term Republican Congressman Scott Perry, who is running for re-election in 2026. Perry narrowly won re-election in 2024 by about 5,100 votes with 50.63% over former television news anchor Janelle Stelson, who is running again in 2026.The district covers parts of Cumberland, Dauphin, and York counties, including the City of Harrisburg.Here are the Democratic Party candidates who have filed with the Federal Election Commission to run for the 10th District seat in 2026.Janelle StelsonFormer local news anchor Janelle Stelson won the 2024 Democratic primary after receiving more than 26,000 votes in a crowded field of six candidates, but lost to Perry by 5,100 votes. It was the closest any Democrat has come to unseating Perry.Stelson had worked for WGAL since 1997 after beginning her journalism career at abc27. According to her biography, she has a Politics and Government degree from the University of Puget Sound and previously wrote speeches at the Embassy of Egypt in Washington, D.C.Stelson, a former registered Republican, won a crowded Democratic primary by more than 12,000 votes. Throughout the 2024 primary, Stelson was criticized for living outside the 10th District in Lancaster County. Amid her 2026 candidacy announcement, Stelson rented a home in Camp Bill, Cumberland County.Stelson says she’s focused on bringing down the cost of living, banning members of Congress from trading stocks, raising the minimum wage, and codifying Roe v. Wade.Justin DouglasJustin Douglas, the Chairman of the Dauphin County Commissioners, filed to run for Congress in September 2025 after announcing an exploratory committee.A former pastor, Douglas was elected as a County Commissioner in 2022 and rose to the position of Chairman earlier this year. He has focused much of his time as a county commissioner on fighting “fraud, waste, abuse, and corruption, no matter where it hides or who it implicates.”In his campaign announcement, Douglas said he is “someone who has never backed down from a fight.” His campaign website says he supports a pathway to citizenship, gradually raising the minimum wage, and codifying Roe v. Wade into federal law.Jason CassCarlisle resident Jason Cass filed with the FEC to run as a Democrat on November 5, 2025.
