Ahead of next week’s March 4 “Apple Experience,” where media, including Gizmodo, are expecting to get hands-on time with new product announcements, Apple CEO Tim Cook has come right out with a teaser to get the hype train going. “A big week ahead. It all starts Monday morning!” Cook wrote on X. The post also includes a short video showing the bite being taken out of the Apple logo. There’s, honestly, not a whole lot to go off of here. From the rumor mill, we’re expecting Apple to announce a low-cost MacBook, powered by an iPhone chipset, and with a display around 12.9 inches. It’s also rumored to ship in several colors, including possibly yellow, blue, and pink. A big week ahead. It all starts Monday morning! #AppleLaunch pic.twitter.com/PQ9gM2Gl2r — Tim Cook (@tim_cook) February 26, 2026 The big selling point for the new MacBook is expected to be its price. While early rumors suggested Apple could sell the new laptop at as low as $599, supply chain sources who spoke with DigiTimes are estimating that it could start at $699 or $749 instead. This would still be several hundred dollars less than the current 13-inch MacBook Air with M4 chip, which starts at $999 and comes with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage—a hell of value. Cook’s post suggests we’ll get several days of product announcements starting on Monday. This aligns with reports that new Apple products—including a new MacBook Air with M5 chip, refreshed 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros with M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, possibly two updated Apple Studio Displays, and new iPads (12th-gen entry-level iPad and iPad Air with M4 chip)—are just around the corner. What’s not coming next week? The touchscreen MacBook Pros that Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman shared new details on earlier this week. Those aren’t expected to launch until later this year. Anyway, looks like we’ll have to refresh the Apple Newsroom like maniacs next week. It’s likely Apple will announce everything via press releases, ending with the hands-on experience for media on Thursday.
