Just ask some of the staff at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Things have been a bit awkward since the cancer hospital announced 2½ years ago that it was breaking its decades-long partnership with Brigham and Women’s Hospital and instead partnering with nearby rival Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. As shocking as the announcement was in Boston’s large medical community, the changes were expected to take time: The two would incrementally unwind the partnership, with the contract ending in 2028.
