The US administration does not refuse from contacts with Iran, including in Geneva, to settle the problem around the Iranian nuclear dossier diplomatically, but it has other scenarios, US Vice President JD Vance said. He recalled that President Donald Trump is sending his two best negotiators to Geneva to continue efforts "try to strike the best deal possible." "The principle is simple: Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon that causes problems for us. We have seen evidence they have tried to do exactly that. The president is sending his negotiators to try to address that problem. He wants to address that problem diplomatically," he said, adding that the president has other options as well. In January, the White House warned that it was ready to use force if Tehran fails to engage in talks aimed at reaching a "fair deal" under which Iran completely drops any plans to obtain nuclear weapons.
