Or another ultra-thin phone, either.

There are no guarantees in this world. Case in point: sequels to Samsung’s skinny Galaxy S25 Edge and its dual-hinge Galaxy Z TriFold foldable phone. Speaking with Bloomberg, Won-Joon Choi, chief operating officer of Samsung’s Mobile Experience Business, said the electronics giant hasn’t committed to launching successors to those two phones. See Galaxy Z TriFold at Samsung.com Choi admitted sales for the S25 Edge were “relatively lower than other lineups,” suggesting that consumers aren’t interested in ultra-thin and light phones with pared-back features like reduced battery life and fewer cameras. This mirrors reports that Apple is reconsidering a new version of its iPhone Air, which also has reportedly sold poorly according to analyst estimates. In a twist, Choi also said Samsung might release a wider version of its Galaxy Z Fold 7, basically confirming the wider book-style foldable that has leaked in recent months as a “Wide Fold.” This device would most likely be the company’s answer to Apple’s rumored foldable iPhone that’s expected to launch in the fall alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max. I’m not at all surprised that Samsung is being cautious about second-gen versions of the S25 Edge and Galaxy Z TriFold. In this economy, especially now when prices for consumer electronics are skyrocketing because of the ongoing RAM and storage shortage that seems to be worsening every week, consumers are looking for the best value. That means sticking with familiar, tried-and-true devices they know are basically polished to perfection, like the S26 series phones that were just announced this week. © Adriano Contreras / Gizmodo Speaking of the S26—specifically the Ultra model—Choi said that the Privacy Display feature, which lets you dim the screen’s sides to prevent peepers from snooping on you, was originally planned for the S25 Ultra but was delayed because of unspecified challenges. He also added that Samsung is working on a next-generation version of the S Pen. Consumers rightfully slammed Samsung for removing the built-in Bluetooth functionality, which enabled useful features like using it as a wireless camera shutter remote, from the S Pen in the S25 Ultra. Unfortunately, Samsung didn’t bring Bluetooth back in the S26 Ultra. See Galaxy Z TriFold at Samsung.com
