Lighthouse Poole has announced a variety of new shows on sale this week, focusing on world music and comedy. This includes a variety of upcoming cinema events, music events, and theatre shows, set to go on sale this week. The cinema line-up starts on March 6 with Joachim Trier’s Oscar-nominated film, Sentimental Value, starring Renate Reinsve and Stellan Skarsgård, showing at 11am. A modern adaptation of Wuthering Heights, directed by Emerald Fennell and featuring Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi, can be seen at various times between March 6 and March 12. (Image: Lighthouse Poole) The Brazilian Oscar-nominated drama The Secret Agent will be available from March 13 to March 18. Jonno Davies, Mark Addy, and Martin Clunes headline Mother’s Pride from March 13 to March 26, a story about a grieving family who finds solace in brewing beer. Song Sung Blue, featuring Hugh Jackman and Oscar-nominated Kate Hudson, will hit the screens on March 20 and March 24 at 11am. The romantic fantasy The Bride! will air from March 20 to March 26, and The Testament of Ann Lee, based on true events, will be screened on March 21, March 24, and March 26. A new production and adaptation of Shakespeare’s Othello, starring David Harewood and Toby Jones, will be shown on March 25. Lastly, for animal lovers and families, Disney and Pixar's Hoppers will screen from March 27 to April 9. Aside from films, the Poole venue will also showcase a range of musical talent. Montreal-born Grenadian-Canadian, Kaïa Kater, will share tunes from her JUNO-winning album, Strange Medicine, on May 6 at 8pm. Studio Jazz: The Darius Brubeck Quartet, with Dave’s pianist son Darius and renowned saxophonist, Dave O’Higgins, will perform a mix of Dave Brubeck’s classics and South African jazz on June 5. The Bob Ross Effect, a tribute by Sarah-Louise Young, will take to the stage on June 11. Theatre enthusiasts can look forward to Baby Brain on July 2. This new play stars BAFTA winner Kimberley Nixon, highlighting a new mother’s mental health crisis through a mix of humour and realism.
