A new hand surgeon is now seeing patients in Geneva, bringing specialized orthopedic care closer to home in the Finger Lakes.Emily Morgan, MD, has joined Rochester Regional Health’s orthopedic hand surgery team and will be based at the new RRH Geneva Medical Campus. She will also see patients at orthopedic offices in Clifton Springs, Victor, and at Linden Oaks in Rochester. Dr. Morgan is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with advanced training in hand and upper-extremity care. She treats conditions that range from nerve compression syndromes and traumatic injuries to arthritis, sports injuries, tendonitis, and upper-extremity masses.Her clinical interests include reconstructive nerve and tendon procedures, treatment of joint contractures, and complex conditions such as Dupuytren’s disease.Dr. Morgan also brings nearly a decade of military medical service to her new role. She spent three years at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany and deployed to Afghanistan as part of a Forward Surgical Team. She later served five years at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington.“Hand and upper-extremity problems can disrupt even the simplest moments of daily life,” Dr. Morgan said. “My role is to help patients move past those limitations through clear communication, expert care, and a plan that reflects what matters most to them. I’m looking forward to building long-term relationships with patients here in the Finger Lakes.”Dr. Morgan earned her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. She completed her orthopedic surgery residency at Madigan Army Medical Center and went on to complete a hand surgery fellowship at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.Rochester Regional Health said her arrival reflects its continued investment in bringing experienced, highly trained physicians to the Finger Lakes region and reinforcing its commitment to specialized care close to home.Outside of work, Dr. Morgan is a wife and mother of two young children.
