The French Winter Olympics team is returning home following the closing ceremony of the Milona-Cortina games and will be carrying with them a record medal haul after the country secured a total of 23 golds, silvers and bronzes, nine more than its previous best.
The French delegation had another day to remember at the Winter Olympics on Saturday, with Océane Michelon clinching gold in the final biathlon race while Emily Harrop and Thibault Anselmet won the first-ever ski mountaineering mixed relay.

Czech biathlete Tereza Vobornikova had to settle for bronze after being overtaken by the French powerhouse team, finishing 7.4 seconds behind Michelon.
Emily Harrop and Thibault Anselmet combined to win gold for France in the mixed relay event of Olympic ski mountaineering in Bormio on Saturday with a winning time of 26min 57.44sec as the sport makes its Olympic debut at the Milan-Cortina Games.

Greenland's Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen said on Sunday "no thanks" to U.S. President Donald Trump's idea of sending a hospital ship to Greenland, a territory that Trump has repeatedly said he wishes to take over. Trump said on Saturday on social media he was working with Louisiana Governor and special envoy to Greenland, Jeff Landry, to send a hospital boat to Greenland.
