This week on STATus Report, everything you need to know about RFK Jr., MAHA, and "glypho-gate."
By Alex HoganFeb. 26, 2026 Senior Multimedia Producer A recent executive order has put health secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. in a tight spot. The order aims to shore up production of the herbicide glyphosate (better known as the active ingredient in the weed killer Roundup) for “national security and defense reasons.” And many in the Make America Healthy Again movement led by Kennedy consider glyphosate to be a mortal enemy. There was swift backlash in the MAHA community, with some in the movement viewing it as a “betrayal.” But Kennedy has continued to defend President Trump. In this week’s STATus Report, host Alex Hogan explores how glyphosate works, delves into why its use is so controversial, and discusses the political ramifications of this dustup for MAHA with STAT reporter Isabella Cueto.
