You can save $30 on Sony’s DualSense Edge controller by buying refurbished

If the PlayStation 5 is your console of choice — and you’re not satisfied with the DualSense gamepad it comes with — the DualSense Edge may be what you’re looking for. Luckily, if its high asking price of $199 was keeping you away, Sony is now offering the white and black controller via the PlayStation Direct storefront in refurbished condition for $169 ($30 off). It comes with the same one-year warranty as a new unit, though it may exhibit minor cosmetic imperfections. Sony DualSense Edge Sony’s pro-style controller, the DualSense Edge, might suffer from shorter battery life than the standard DualSense model, but it features great software integration with the PlayStation 5 and plenty of customizable components. Where to Buy: $199 $169 at PlayStation Direct (refurbished) The DualSense Edge is significantly more customizable than Sony’s pack-in controller, with toggleable control schemes you can switch without leaving your game, mappable rear paddles, and swappable joysticks in case one breaks. On its back, there are switches that let you adjust the stopping point of its triggers, allowing either a full pull or a short and clicky feel. It’s also easy to tweak the joysticks’ deadzone and sensitivity levels. In addition to being a great pairing with the PS5, the DualSense Edge is also compatible with Windows. Several PC games published by PlayStation Studios feature support for some of the controller’s unique features, too. The wireless controller’s only significant downside is that it’s limited to eight hours of battery life, which is a couple of hours shorter than Sony’s standard DualSense gamepad. It shouldn’t be an issue if you remember to charge the controller every few days, though. Read our full DualSense Edge review.

Turtle Beach’s new PC controller with swiveling sticks is 30 percent off

Many modern gamepads have adopted a modular design in recent years, from the Victrix Pro BFG Reloaded to Hyperkin’s clamp-on X5 Alteron for the Nintendo Switch. However, few of them are quite as innovative as last year’s Turtle Beach Stealth Pivot, which is now on sale at Amazon and Best Buy for an all-time low of $99.99 ($40 off). Turtle Beach Stealth Pivot Where to Buy: $139.99 $99.99 at Amazon $139.99 $99.99 at Best Buy $139.99 at Turtle Beach The defining feature of the Stealth Pivot doesn’t lie with its drift-free Hall effects sticks or its built-in social notifications — though, those are nice additions. The controller’s main selling factor is a pair of rotating modules, which, when depressed and swiveled, turn an otherwise traditional button and thumbstick layout into one better fit for tackling retro titles and fighting games. You also get a set of programmable back buttons, adjustable trigger stops for a more customized feel, a 3.5mm jack, and the ability to save up to five distinct profiles on the fly. As for compatibility, the Stealth Pivot works wirelessly with PC using the included 2.4GHz wireless transmitter, or via Bluetooth, which also lets you connect it to mobile devices and select smart TVs. Battery life is limited to about 20 hours per charge, though you can also use it with Xbox consoles via a wired connection, making it even more versatile. More ways to save today Lego’s Mario and Yoshi set is currently on sale at Amazon and Target for a $103.99 ($26 off), matching its best price to date. The 15-inch, 1,215-piece kit looks to be a pretty faithful recreation of the 16-bit sprites used in Super Mario World, which, with the help of a hand crank, move to replicate Yoshi’s original running animation. It’s pretty clever, even if the 2D creation will spend most of the time on your shelf with its various mechanisms hidden from view. Bose’s Ultra Open Earbuds, which are a somewhat hard sell at $299, are a lot more appealing now that they’re on sal

Abxylute’s new Switch 2 controller prototype has one big problem

Gaming accessory company Abxylute has launched a Kickstarter campaign for its upcoming N6 and GameCube-style N9C Switch 2 dock-style controllers. If the ergonomics of Nintendo's Joy-Cons don't jibe with you, these aim to be solid alternatives, particularly for people with medium-to-large-size hands. Both of Abxylute's new controllers have bigger, more comfortable grips than Joy-Cons offer, along with longer-lasting Hall effect joysticks. I tested a functioning prototype of the N6, and it has almost everything that people might be looking for to level up their gaming experience: full-size sticks, vibration, motion controls, customizable bac … Read the full story at The Verge.
