Police said the deceased fighters were involved in “attacks targeting Chinese nationals”.Pakistan has seen a surge in unprecedented attacks against its security forces since 2021, coinciding with the Taliban’s return to power in Afghanistan.More than 2,400 deaths were recorded for the first three quarters of 2025, an increase over the previous year’s death toll of about 2,500 in attacks across Pakistan.Pakistan has blamed the majority of the attacks on the TTP, whose leaders are now allegedly based in Afghanistan.TTP members hail largely from the tribal areas of Pakistan, along the Afghan border.
